9. RECEIVING WISDOM FOR OUR LIVES (Eccl. 7:11-12;Jer.33:2-3)
Father, You commanded us in Prov. 4:5-7 to get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of Your mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; lover her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Then in Prov. 9:10, You made this clear: the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. James 3:17-18 says the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure, then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere. Peacemakers who are sowing in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. So, through the power of the covenant, and by the blood of Jesus, we receive Your words, and we think You, Father, that we can walk in them. We are now walking in Is. 59:4 and Ps 81:10. Our Lord God has given us the tongue of the learned, and we know how to speak a word in season to them that are weary. You, Father, waken us every morning and open our ears to hear as the learned. (1Jn 2:20) Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You are making us to know wisdom. (Ps 51:6) You said in Prov. 2:3-9, Yes, if we cry out for discernment, and lift up our voice for hidden treasures, then we will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom: from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding...So we are crying out, O Lord, that you give us Your wisdom in all that we do, Father. I have asked for it, and by the power of the covenant blood of Jesus we have it now, my partners, readers and I, this day. You said in James 1:5 that when we ask for wisdom that You would give it to us liberally, and without resenting our asking. So we give You thanks once again, and we expect wisdom to be manifesting in everything that we do, ask, or say. (Eph. 1:17-21; Eccl. 7:11-12; Is. 11:2-3; Ps 111:10; Prov. 2:3-6; 1Sam 18:14) Oh thank You, Lord, that we walk in Your wisdom and refuse the way of the world! For Is. 30:1-5 will not be us, nor the price of Rev 2:5. Thank You again, Lord. Thank You, Father in Jesus' name. Amen. |
